Research is a core function of the NHS and is an essential part in improving the health and wellbeing of individuals now and in the future.

The Trust’s strategy is to support high quality research in line with Trust objectives to:

  • Give our service users high quality and effective care when and where they need it
  • Empower service users and carers to be involved in their own care and recovery, and that of others
  • Encourage excellence and new ideas

The Research & Innovation Office provides support and guidance to researchers applying for confirmation of Trust capacity and capability for their study and grant applications, and ensures that all Trust active studies meet the requirements and standards of the Research Governance Framework for Health and Social Care.

As part of the NHS Constitution the R&I Office also works together with researchers and Clinical Studies Officers to help raise the awareness of service users of the research opportunities available to them.

Use the navigation bar on the left to access more information about carrying out and taking part in research here at the Trust.
