Maple House

Maple House is a 6 bed psychiatric intensive care ward which provides 24 hour inpatient care, 7 days a week for adults experiencing serious mental health problems.

The ward employs a team of skilled and expert practitioners who provide care and treatment which support service users in their recovery journey.  Service users are generally aged from 18 to 65 years but adults over 65 years can also be cared for in this environment, if clinically appropriate.

The care team includes doctors, nurses, an occupational therapist, physiotherapy, psychology staff and access to other services on the Royal Bolton Hospital site depending on needs.

Each service user is allocated a named nurse who is responsible for the assessment, treatment and care planning in collaboration with the individual and their carer or significant other and trust wide care team.

The service is committed to supporting family and carers and has a designated ‘carer companion’ who liaise with, support and signpost carers depending on individual need.
