GMMH Gives Back

Our communities need our help, and we can’t do it alone.

At GMMH, we live and breathe the communities we live in and serve. We are overwhelmed by the support and positivity we have been shown by our communities during these difficult times and we want to give something back.

We know that there are many people out there in Greater Manchester’s communities who need help - from the parents struggling to cope now that support from schools has been reduced, to our elderly neighbours who are running out of food, to the charities who are at breaking point trying to meet demand. For each individual on their balcony clapping, another is suffering.

To every healthcare and hospital worker working tirelessly to provide life-saving care, and to everyone who loves them… We are so grateful.

To the people in Greater Manchester’s communities who are struggling and to the charities and community organisations that are doing all they can to support them…  We have your back.

That’s why we are launching #GMMHGivesBack, an initiative whereby we can make a tangible and meaningful difference to our communities during these difficult times.

During this pandemic, we will be giving all donations to two brilliant local charities – The Trussell Trust foodbanks and Home-Start. We have included some more information about these charities below.

Our ask is that you give back by making financial donations to these charities, to allow them to help Greater Manchester’s most vulnerable residents to get by.

Together at GMMH, we can truly make a difference.  #GMMHGivesBack #TogetherGMMH #COVID19

Home-Start is a local community network of trained volunteers and expert support helping families with young children through their challenging times. They are there for parents when they need them the most because childhood can’t wait.

Starting in the home, Home-Start's approach is as individual as the people they’re helping. No judgement, it is just compassionate, confidential help and expert support.

Due to COVID-19, they are currently working through the issue of no longer being able to provide face-to-face support at the home. They are working tirelessly to stay connected with families and support them remotely when they can’t visit, through innovative solutions such as care packages. All the while, the number of families in Greater Manchester who are struggling during the pandemic, and require Home-Start's expert support, is increasing daily.

The Trussell Trust and Local Foodbanks

The Trussell Trust’s aim is to end hunger and poverty in the UK. They support a nationwide network of food banks and together they provide emergency food and support to people locked in poverty. They are here to help anyone who needs support during this difficult time.

Each food bank in The Trussell Trust’s network is a local charity, run by a community for a community. These food banks provide an essential community service to people unable to afford food and The Trussell Trust are doing everything they can to help them continue that role during this crisis.
