Join us in celebrating the GMMH Nursing Awards 2026!
Following International Nurses Day, we held our first GMMH Nursing Awards on Monday 18 May 2026. The event provided an opportunity to recognise the outstanding contributions of nurses across our Trust and the impact they make on service users, families, colleagues and the wider community.
After receiving over 300 nominations, we welcomed shortlisted colleagues to the celebration event at The Curve to celebrate our award winners, as well as recognise our highly commended runners up.
During the ceremony, we welcomed Tony Warne, Chair; Karen Howell, Chief Executive Officer; Carol Harris, Chief Operating Officer; and Salli Midgley, Chief Nursing Officer, to announce our worthy winners, who also shared their gratitude to all of our nursing colleagues, thanking them for their continued commitment to providing person-centred care to our communities across Greater Manchester.
Salli Midgley, Chief Nurse, said:
“It has been a pleasure to recognise colleagues for their contributions in GMMH over the past 12 months. These awards have been developed by nurses for nurses. It has been fantastic to see colleagues nominating each other, and I know the independent judging panel had a hard time deciding on the final winners. This is an event I will sponsor to happen every year in recognition of nurses' contribution to healthcare.
“I also know that we have celebration events for Allied Health Professionals (AHPs) and other clinical colleagues. We are working on a similar event for our clinical support workers, who play such a vital role in delivering healthcare.”
Without further ado, please join us in celebrating the winners and highly commended colleagues from the GMMH Nursing Awards 2026.
