Our online survey study exploring diagnostic and treatment decision-making by clinicians working in Children and Adult Mental Health Services (CAMHS) in England. We hope to contribute to improving mental health care for young people.
Who is it for?
This study is no longer looking for new participants but is still ongoing.
- Qualified mental health clinician
- Working within CAMHS in England, or previously worked with children and young people (CYP) in a mental health service context
- Clinicians from a range of professional backgrounds are welcome (e.g. psychologists, nurses, psychiatrists, occupational therapists)
What does taking part involve?
This study is no longer looking for new participants but is still ongoing.
The study duration (including reading the information sheet) is about 20 minutes and should be completed in one sitting. The study takes place online (via Gorilla, a secure platform for survey-based studies).
First, you will be asked to fill in a consent form. Then, if you consent to take part in the study, you will be asked to complete a survey.
The survey includes questions about your professional background and two clinical vignettes which you will be asked to read and answer questions about.

You will receive a £10 Amazon voucher to reimburse you for your time. At the end of the survey you will enter your email address. The voucher will be emailed to you.

It is hoped that this work will improve understanding of the detection and treatment of emotional difficulties in young people.
