Write Up Your Street Project by buzz

buzz Manchester Health & Wellbeing Service are launching their Write Up Your Street project which uses hand written postcards as a way to build intergenerational connections across the city.

These last few months have been a difficult time for everybody with many communities coming together to support one another to get through the pandemic. As we step into the new normal we want to continue building on this community spirit.

This project encourages older residents to share their experience by writing words of wisdom on postcards to be given out to school children. Hopefully these children will benefit from words of support and encouragement as they return to school and adjust to the changing environment.

This project is a collaborative piece of work between the Age Friendly and Start Well Develop Well teams at buzz and Manchester Libraries.

Postcards will be available at any of the library drop off points (listed in the information poster below), but people are also welcome to design their own.

For more information on how to get involved, please take a look at the information poster:  buzz Write Up Your Street project information.pdf
