Strike action taking place in November 2025
Important information for patients during resident doctors strikes.
The British Medical Association (BMA) has announced that resident doctors (previously known as junior doctors) will take part in strike action from 7am on Friday 14 November until 7am on Wednesday 19 November.
Any patient or service user whose appointment is affected by the strike action will be contacted directly. If you are not contacted, we look forward to welcoming you for your appointment as planned.
During these strikes, other doctors (including consultants and other specialist doctors) will still be working. Staff will continue to provide patients with the best possible care under the circumstances, however, there is likely to be disruption to local services.
As with previous periods of strike action, we have tried and tested plans in place to mitigate risks to patient safety and manage any disruption.
We will continue to do everything we can to go ahead with planned appointments – especially for patients in greatest clinical need. Patients should attend their appointment as planned if they have not been contacted.
Regardless of any strike action taking place, it is really important that patients who need urgent medical care continue to come forward as normal, especially in emergency and serious life-threatening cases - when someone is seriously ill or injured, or their life is at risk.
