Have you lost a loved one to suicide?

Greater Manchester Health and Social Care Partnership is working with Rebecca Jackson, a textile artist and Mum bereaved by suicide, to hold weekly workshops across Greater Manchester for those bereaved or affected by suicide to create a memorial quilt.

Over the course of 8 weeks, you will meet others who have had similar experiences and
learn a variety of quilting skills to create a square in memory of someone lost to suicide.

Together, the patches will make up the Greater Manchester Speak Their Name Suicide
Memorial Quilt, in memory of all those lost to suicide across the city-region.

As well as an opportunity to remember loved ones, the project aims to raise awareness
of the impact of suicide.

The project will culminate in an event on World Suicide Prevention Day on 10
September 2020 at Manchester Art Gallery where it will be revealed to the public.

The quilt will then tour across Greater Manchester with the intention of raising awareness
of suicide and initiating local discussions on bereavement support.

Sessions are open to Greater Manchester residents. We recommend choosing the group
in your area as it will be an opportunity to connect with local support.

Spaces are limited so book your place now on: speaktheirname.eventbrite.co.uk

Further sessions will be offered in other areas of Greater Manchester for June/July.
