Professor Tony Warne visits The Therapy Hub
On Monday 15 December 2025, our Chair, Professor Tony Warne, had the pleasure of visiting The Therapy Hub, based at the Victoria Park Centre, Longsight, Manchester.
The visit was an opportunity for Tony to learn more about the multi-disciplinary service, which provides assessment and time limited treatment for those in Later Life with complex mental health needs requiring intensive assessment or input and therapies.
Tony first met with Vanessa Shaw, Ward Manager for The Therapy Hub, who gave him a tour of the unit, including the main room, commonly referred to as “the lounge.” He then spent time greeting service users at the start of their day before they moved on to activities at the Hub, as well as talking with volunteers and staff.
After the visit, Tony, said:
“Many thanks to Vanessa and her colleagues at The Therapy Hub. I had a very interesting and informative visit and could see why so many service users and carers value the service - the Hub was both an oasis of calm, and a thriving community of care.”
Vanessa, added:
“We’re so grateful to Tony for taking the time to visit and see first-hand the positive impact The Therapy Hub has on those we support. It was a wonderful opportunity for service users, volunteers, and staff to share the incredible work happening here - and so lovely to do so just before Christmas.”
“It was fantastic to have Tony spend time with a few of our volunteers, who are such an important part of The Therapy Hub. They run different activities, help with interviews, develop resources to support services users and so much more.
“The visit was a great way to showcase the contribution they make and the positive impact they have on our service. They do an amazing job, and I’m so thankful for all they do!”
