It’s Health Information Week!

This week is Health Information Week #HIW2020, a national, multi-sector campaign promoting high-quality information for patients and the public. High quality health information can have a huge impact on people’s ability to stay healthy and manage illnesses effectively, giving them a better quality of life.

There can be lots of fake or harmful information, particularly on the internet, and it can be hard to tell what’s real and what isn’t. We all need information that we can trust, particularly in this time of coronavirus. And we also need to look after our well-being, whether our mental health or our physical health.

Library and Knowledges Services and Buzz Manchester and Wellbeing Service

Our Library and Knowledge Services, in partnership with our friends at buzz Manchester Health and Wellbeing Service, are using the week to raise awareness of how important it is to get accurate and trusted information about your health.

We will be focusing on physical and mental wellbeing, during a time when most of us are spending a lot more time at home, whilst keeping a distance from other people, which can have a big impact.

We will be sharing lots of useful hints, tips and information, as well as running polls, hosting twitter take-overs and Q&As throughout the week. So please follow the Library and Knowledge Services account @Knowledge_GMMH and the buzz Manchester account @buzzmanc on Twitter to follow all the action!

Achieve

Achieve will be promoting material from Health Information Week throughout the week as well as sharing ideas and suggestions that may help physical and mental wellbeing.

Achieve will be hosting an online HIW Get Together on Friday 10th July 2020 between 14:00 - 15:00.
