Greater Manchester Crisis Care Pathway

Crisis Care Banner

The pathway is being delivered by Greater Manchester Mental Health, Pennine Care NHS Foundation Trust, Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust and North West Boroughs Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust.

To ensure the success of this new pathway, we will be working closely with lots of partner organisations in Greater Manchester. This includes other NHS trusts, local authorities (councils), the private sector and the voluntary, community and social enterprise sector.

By sharing our knowledge, skills, experience and resources, we can develop new and innovative services that are easy for young people to access and better meet their needs.

We want to dramatically improve the overall service experience for children and young people, along with those who care for and work with them. We also want to reduce the number of young people who need specialist mental health support.

This will be achieved by identifying any mental health issues earlier and offering the right care and support quickly.

Support will be available 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Many of the new pathway services will be based in the community, to help young people avoid having to go into hospital unnecessarily.

All new developments will be based on evidence and feedback from children, young people and other key people.

You can read more in the attached pathway booklet.
