On Tuesday 11 November 2025, service users, visitors, and colleagues from across the Trust gathered outside our headquarters, The Curve, to mark Armistice Day and pay respects to our Armed Forces, both past and present, during a remembrance service.

The service was led by our Head of Chaplaincy, Nik Hookey, and included readings and contributions from staff who are Armed Forces veterans. Just before 11am, the bugle call ‘The Last Post’ was played to signal the start of the national two-minute silence.

Following this, the Reveille was sounded to conclude the act of remembrance and Gregg Stevenson MBE - a former soldier and Paralympic champion who now works with the Veterans Covenant Healthcare Alliance (VCHA) as a regional trainer for the North West of England - laid a poppy wreath on behalf of the Trust.

Behind them is a grassy area with fallen leaves and a row of brick buildings with white-framed windows and blue railings.

The service concluded with reflections from Paul Howard, our Director of Corporate Affairs, followed by a blessing delivered by Nik.

Throughout the morning, representatives from Op COURAGE, the Veterans Mental Health and Wellbeing Service, hosted a stall inside The Curve to provide information on referral pathways and support services available to veterans and their families.

After the service, Stuart Edmondson, Lead Nurse for Safer Staffing and Military Veterans, said:

“I want to extend my heartfelt thanks to those that attended our Remembrance Day event. Your support helped create a meaningful space to honour the courage, sacrifice, and legacy of those who served and continue to serve.

“Whether through quiet reflection, shared stories, or collective remembrance, your contribution made a real difference. It’s through moments like these that we keep their memory alive.

“Thank you once again for standing with us in remembrance”.
