CEF and North View win big at the Building Better Healthcare Awards.

GMMH Colleagues attending the Building Better Healthcare Awards 2025

Congratulations to our Capital, Estates and Facilities directorate, who were crowned Estates & Facilities Team of the Year at the Building Better Healthcare Awards 2025 in November.

This prestigious award recognises the team's performance and efforts across a wide range of service delivery, including estates management, domestic, portering,  catering and sustainability to name just a few, where our GMMH team saw off strong competition from both public and privately-operated health and social care organisations from across the UK.

On receiving this award, Marc Reed, Director for Capital, Estate and Facilities said:

"I‘m really proud that the Trusts Capital, Estates & Facilities teams have been recognised at the Building Better Healthcare Awards as their 2025 Team of the Year.

This award further illustrates the strong group of professionals we have at GMMH, across a broad variety of services, who have, and continue to make demonstrable improvements, both effectively and efficiently, that support the delivery of care for our service users."

The Building Better Healthcare Awards proved to be a highly successful night for GMMH, as our mental health inpatient hospital, North View,
which opened earlier this year, also picked up a host of accolades at the awards ceremony in London.

North View was named Clinicians Choice, chosen by Dr. Peter Carter, which is awarded to the project that has made the greatest positive impact on clinicians  working in a healthcare setting and supports a meaningful difference for those who care for patients everyday.

North View also scooped the Best External Environment / Landscape award, recognising an outstanding external space that enhances the overall experience of patients, staff, and visitors.

North View also received bronze awards for Best Collaborative Art Project and Best Mental Health / Dementia Care Development, which follows Blossom Ward’s recent accreditation by the University of Stirling’s Dementia Services Development Centre, cementing North Views standing as a state-of-the-art facility for our service users with dementia.

On North View's continued success, Marc shared:

"It’s fantastic that North View continues to be recognised and celebrated at a national level. The development has succeeded on so many levels, which is testament to everyone who’s been involved in the journey, from the project’s original concept, through to current reality, and day-to-day delivery of care."

Since opening to service users in November 2024, North View has enjoyed a highly successful year, as it was named Project of the Year at both the HEFMA and North West Regional Construction Awards,  alongside several other national awards as well as receiving recognition for its specialist design and sustainability

While our CEF directorate have also seen their continued hard work and dedication reap rewards, as they were named Estates and Facilities Team of the Year at the IHEEM Awards in October, following further success across cateringcleaning and the creation of green initiatives for our staff and service users.
