Governor Elections 2022

Join us!  Become a Governor at GMMH!

We are pleased to announce that our 2022 Council of Governor Elections are open!

Over the last two years, the pandemic has reinforced people’s appreciation of the NHS.

Greater Manchester Mental Health NHS Foundation Trust (GMMH) has continued to provide mental health services throughout this difficult period and is at the forefront of recovery as the mental health impact of the pandemic is starting to be fully recognised.

We are now looking for passionate and dedicated people to join our Council of Governors. Governors have an important role in making GMMH publicly accountable for the services we provide.  They are elected by GMMH Foundation Trust members and form the Council of Governors.  They are responsible for representing the views of members to the Trust’s Board of Directors as well as having formal roles in appointing the Trust’s Chair and Non-Executive Directors and approving the appointment of the chief executive.

We have 12 seats up for election on our Council of Governors – following the transfer of Wigan Borough and GM services from North West Healthcare Boroughs NHS FT, we are delighted to have two seats for this constituency.
