End of life care working group roles

GMW is currently seeking applications from service users and carers to join a time-limited working group developing the Trust’s approach to providing end of life and palliative care. We would also like help shaping the bereavement support available to services users and carers in the event of death.

We are looking to appoint one service user representative and one carer representative to the working group. You will be paid for your time and we will cover any travel expenses. The rate of pay is £10 per hour.

We are looking for applications from service users and carers with lived experience of caring for someone at the end of life and also with lived experience of what it feels like to be bereaved and in need of support. Your experiences and views will help the working group gain an understanding of the experiences, needs and issues important to those who are approaching the end of life, providing or in need of palliative care or experiencing bereavement.

The working group will help to develop the package of care that GMW offers, the policies and procedures that our staff work towards and the service user and carer support that is offered at the end of life and in bereavement.

You can help shape the recommendations we make by joining this working group and sharing your thoughts and experiences. The time commitment for this group is a maximum of 20 hours e.g. to attend approximately seven meetings over approximately nine months with the first meeting taking place in Prestwich on the 18 May 2016 from 1pm to 4pm.

To apply, please get in contact with us to let us know why you would like to take part (expression of interest). The closing date for expressions of interest from people who want to be part of the working group is 5pm on Wednesday 29 June 2016.
