BAND Buddying Project

BAND are pleased to announce the launch of the ‘Buddying Project’ funded by Lloyds Bank Foundation.

Leaving hospital after even a fairly brief stay can be a daunting prospect, but especially so after a mental health episode, when the world can feel a confusing and scary place.

This project aims to offer additional support on discharge in order to prevent relapse/revolving door presentation, to achieve a positive transition and to begin a sustainable recovery.

The support will be relatively short term (between 3 and 6 months, depending on need), will be built around individual needs and will be provided by volunteer ‘buddies’.

BAND is looking for a person to deliver the Buddying Project.  The successful candidate will have the knowledge, skills and experience to build mutually respectful professional relationships with people who are referred to the service, to assess their needs and to build a personalised recovery plan.

He or she will have experience of supporting volunteers and will have a commitment to and passion for supporting people to make meaningful and sustainable changes to their lives.
