Community Mental Health Teams in Wigan

Community Mental Health Teams (CMHTs) provide multidisciplinary assessment, treatment and care for individuals with severe and enduring mental health problems.

They provide services to adults aged 16 to 70 years with a diagnosed functional mental health condition, unless their needs would be more appropriately met by the Older Adults Community Mental Health Team or another specialist service.

Community Mental Health Teams in Wigan support people experiencing serious mental illness, including schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, severe depression, severe anxiety disorders, and complex personality disorders. They also provide support to individuals whose mental health difficulties have a significant impact on daily living, relationships, employment, education, or their ability to live independently.

Our teams work collaboratively with service users, carers, families and partner agencies to deliver recovery-focused care. We aim to provide high-quality, comprehensive support that enables people to manage their mental health, build resilience, achieve their personal goals and live as independently as possible within their local community.
