Couch to 5k: Mile Shy Club
MileShyClub supports absolute beginners to get into running and build up to 5k. There are Couch to 5k sessions across Trafford (Urmston, Stretford, Sale, Sale West, Partington, Old Trafford, Altrincham) as well as beginner walking clubs (Stretford, Partington, Trafford Centre, Old Trafford, Sale) for up to 1 to 2 miles.
Some sessions are free of charge, and some charge just £2 a session. They also offer a free mental health support group based on the 5 Ways to Wellbeing in Sale on a Thursday evening.

Trafford Leisure
Trafford Leisure offer a Physical Activity Referral Scheme whereby you will have supported access to their facilities for 12 weeks for a cost of £30 if you are referred by your GP or health professional. It is not eligible to people who have been a member of Trafford Leisure within the last 12 months.

Be Active Urmston
Gym, classes and accessible sports such as walking football, walking cricket and walking netball. Classes can be booked without needing to be a member.

Age UK Trafford
Provides exercise classes for older people who have had a fall or are at risk of falling.
Age UK also provide Strength and Balance exercise classes with an aim to improve overall wellbeing, fitness, and increase social interactions. In addition, they have several exercise videos on their website which can support people to stay active at home.

Ramblers Wellbeing Walks Trafford
Ramblers Wellbeing Walks - Trafford have several weekly walks across a variety of locations in Trafford. The walks are free and led by experienced Walk Leaders. They are no longer than 90 minutes. All walks finish with a chat and brew in comfortable surroundings.

Friends of Victoria Park
Fresh Air Fridays are weekly graded and themed walks around the park, starting at a gentle 200 metres. It is aimed at those unused to walking, with health issues or recovering from illness. Dress for the weather and wear suitable footwear, raincapes and umbrellas provided.
Friends of Victoria Park also run a gardening for Health session which gives people the opportunity to get outside, and no gardening experience is necessary.

The Hub Community Centre
