Working closer together - Pennine Care & GMMH

We have agreed that our two organisations will work together even more closely in the coming months and years to improve care for our patients, the communities we serve and make the best use of public money. This follows a joint meeting between our two boards of directors.
The NHS is changing fast, and we have a shared enthusiasm for doing something different in Greater Manchester.
The moment is right to seize the initiative, and together we will be looking for new opportunities to collaborate and share ideas so we can improve patient care and make the most of the combined skills and resources across our two diverse organisations.
We believe that through strong collaboration, where it can improve services, we can bring real benefits for our patients, our staff, and our communities.
We are very clear that this is not about a potential merger, it is about maximising the potential of our two independent but interdependent organisations.
One big step we are taking is to jointly procure a new electronic patient record (EPR) system when our current contracts end in 2028. This new system will be used by both Trusts and will help us manage patient information more smoothly and consistently. A joint digital programme board is already leading this work to make sure it meets the needs of both organisations.
We are also teaming up in other areas, such as sustainability to help both Trusts move forward with our green goals and support a more sustainable NHS.
This partnership is not just about responding to challenges - it’s about being proactive and making sure our services are strong, inclusive, and ready for the future.
Thank you for your continued dedication and support. We will keep you updated, and we are looking forward to what we can achieve together.
Best wishes,
