Upcoming changes to drug and alcohol services in Bolton.
Following a recent contract review carried out by the local authorities, a new provider has been identified to take over the delivery of drug and alcohol services in Bolton. From Wednesday 1 April 2026, these services will be handed over from our Bolton Achieve team to Waythrough .
Waythrough are highly experienced specialists in the delivery of drug and alcohol treatment and recovery services. They work across many areas and are recognised for providing high-quality, person-centred care. We are confident that they will continue to support those currently accessing Bolton Achieve in a safe, professional, and compassionate way.
Between now and Tuesday 31 March 2026, Bolton Achieve will continue to provide treatment and support to service users as usual. We are working closely with local partners and Waythrough to ensure a smooth and well-planned transition, with continuity of care as our highest priority.
For those currently accessing Bolton Achieve, we thank you for engaging with our service. It has been a privilege to support you, and we wish you every success in your ongoing recovery journey.
We would also like to take this opportunity to thank our colleagues within Bolton Achieve for the dedication and care you have provided to our service users, as well as the professionalism demonstrated throughout the transition process. For those leaving the Trust, we wish you the best of luck for the future.
We are pleased to announce that Achieve services in Bury, Trafford and Salford will continue to be provided by GMMH, and we look forward to providing innovative substance use treatment and recovery to the individuals, families and communities across our Achieve localities.
