The Better Information Programme November dates announced – Book your place now!

Access to health information has never been greater. Professional opinions and health information leaflets are now accompanied by innovative apps and a variety of health-related websites.

The Better Information Programme is designed for staff from a wide range of health, social care and community organisations. It is a free half-day course designed to raise awareness about the sources of health information and how we can decide if it is any good.

At the end of the day, you will be:

  • Knowledgeable about the range of health information available.
  • Skilled in being able to spot poor quality or potentially harmful health information.
  • Aware of health information literacy and why it is important.
  • Able to approach production of health information in a systematic way.

Confident in signposting your communities and colleagues to evidence-based sources.

The Better Information Programme is delivered by buzz Health and Wellbeing Service in partnership with Manchester Health and Care Commissioning.

The first half-day session will be delivered in South Manchester and the second session will be in North Manchester. There are also plans for a further date in Central Manchester.

To sign up for the first half-day training session at The Brooklands Church of The Nazarene on Thursday 7 November 2019 9am – 12:30pm, please register HERE.

To sign up for the second half-day training session at The Curve on Tuesday 19 November 2019 9am – 12:30pm, please register HERE.

As part of the course, you will receive a range of supporting materials which will help you to produce better information for your patients, service users and communities. After receiving the training, you will become a designated Knowledge Champion and will be expected to share your learning with colleagues and communities.

You can download this poster and share on social media or print and display if you want to promote The Better Information Programme.
