Shaping service improvement through lived experience: A celebration of our Service User and Carer Councils

Since early 2024, we have worked in partnership with representatives from our service user and carer communities to develop separate Trust-wide councils for service users and carers.

On Wednesday 22 July 2026, our Service User and Carer Councils came together for a full day of reflection, planning for the future and celebration, which included awards and cake!

We wanted to acknowledge the dedication of our council members, so awards were presented by Salli Midgley, our Chief Nurse, in recognition of their contributions to service user and carer experience and engagement at service, Trust, regional and national levels.

If you want to learn more about the Councils, please contact ServiceUsersandCarers@gmmh.nhs.uk.
