Rivington Garden in Bolton officially opened

‘Rivington Garden’ is a new space especially created for service users, carers and staff at Royal Bolton Hospital.

Created by Greater Manchester Mental Health NHS Foundation Trust (GMMH), Rivington Garden officially opened at Bolton’s Summer Fair on Friday 28 July 2023.

Those in attendance enjoyed games, stalls with prizes and some fantastic food provided by the GMMH catering team in a beautiful space.

The garden is a space that can be enjoyed by everyone and will be open until 9pm every evening.

The Psychology team will be running a gardening group with service users plus other group work. Staff can also use the space to take breaks, get some fresh air and (hopefully!) some sunshine.

A huge thanks to Peter O’Sullivan, Senior Capital Project Manager at GMMH, and the wider GMMH Capital team for making this possible and creating such a special space for all to enjoy and to everyone who attended the official opening – even the sun made an appearance!
