Professor Tony Warne visits The Orchard

GMMH's Achieve Salford teams at The Orchard welcomed a visit from our Chair, Professor Tony Warne, last week at their Recovery Hub in Salford.
The visit was an opportunity for Tony to meet with staff and hear the great work the Achieve partnership are doing at The Orchard to support people in Salford affected by drug and alcohol use to improve health outcomes and achieve long-term recovery.
After the visit, Tony said: “It was great to meet colleagues at The Orchard and to spend time learning about the services they provide - I don’t think I have felt so much energy and positivity from everyone I met.
“I’m very grateful that in such a busy service, colleagues made time to speak. I learnt a great deal about the lived experiences of those who have used their service and are now able to help others.”
Staff commented how much they appreciated the opportunity to speak with Tony and how much they valued the visit to discuss how they work collaboratively with a wide spectrum of local health and social care providers to reduce the impact of alcohol and drug use on individuals, children, young people and families.
Peter Ward, Operational Manager - Achieve Salford and Trafford, who has worked for over 20 years in addiction services, said: “We are grateful to Tony for taking the time to visit, listen, and engage with our team.
“His genuine interest in the work of the Achieve partnership, the communities we serve, and the wide-ranging interventions we offer to service users and families was appreciated.
“Tony’s presence not only highlighted the value of our Achieve and Addictions division within the wider Trust, but also reaffirmed the meaningful, long-term impact our work has across the communities we support.”
Our Achieve service is the lead provider of substance use treatment and recovery service in the boroughs of Salford, Bury, Bolton, and Trafford providing drug and alcohol treatment and recovery services to individuals, families and communities.
