The Recovery Pathways service, part of Greater Manchester Mental Health NHS Foundation Trust (GMMH), is excited to announce the launch of its Arts for Good Health spring programme.  

Join us for a showcase of developed Extended Reality (XR) mental health interventions and future opportunities at our collaborative workshop on Thursday 15 February at CityLabs 1.0, Manchester. The ‘ecosystem event’ will bring together service users, clinicians, academics, and digital experts to discuss the potential of Extended Reality (XR) in mental healthcare. 

No. 93 Wellbeing Centre is hosting a number of different community groups, free wellbeing-related sessions and services for Manchester residents to help with the cost of living this winter. The Centre is a community hub at the heart of Harpurhey in Manchester. Run by Greater Manchester Mental Health NHS Foundation Trust, the Centre offers a number of different groups, activities and events to support mental health and wellbeing.

A virtual reality (VR) treatment has received a positive Early Value Assessment from the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE), having been first piloted in Greater Manchester Mental Health NHS Foundation Trust (GMMH).

There will be a six-day period of industrial action from 7am on Wednesday 3 January to 7am on Tuesday 9 January 2024.  Any patient or service user whose appointment is affected by industrial action will be contacted directly. If you are not contacted, we look forward to welcoming you for your appointment as planned.  

GMMH’s Research & Innovation department is delighted to welcome you to a webinar in the new year, presented by the Mental Health Nursing Research Unit, Dr David Shiers and Dr Benjamin Perry, entitled “Keeping the Body in Mind: for people with psychosis it’s about time!”

Tuesday 5 December is Care Certificate Celebration Day, and this day is used to celebrate the Care Certificate and the support staff who complete it.

In recognition of her work with international recruitment, Kahani Awasare was invited to Buckingham Palace on Tuesday 14 November 2023, to attend a reception hosted by The King, which recognised the diversity of nurses and midwives in the UK and paid a particular tribute to the contribution of the internationally educated workforce.

GMMH is joining in this year’s celebrations by shining a spotlight on Nursing Support Workers in our teams.

Staff and partners of Greater Manchester Mental Health NHS Foundation Trust (GMMH) teamed up to clean the surrounding area of North View - the Trust’s new, purpose-built mental health unit on the North Manchester General Hospital site.

Colleagues from the Research & Innovation department at Greater Manchester Mental Health NHS Foundation Trust (GMMH), Greater Manchester Clinical Research Network (CRN:GM) and Wigan Council’s Healthy Schools team visited All Saints Catholic Primary School, Golborne, to present an award for the school’s outstanding work in supporting research.  

A Greater Manchester-based dementia research team has won the first ‘Modernising Diagnostics’ award at the Health Service Journal (HSJ) Awards 2023.
