Members of Unite and Unison who work at Manchester’s Early Intervention Service have notified Greater Manchester Mental Health NHS Foundation Trust (GMMH) that they intend to take part in a 24-hour strike from Wednesday 16 October, from 8am until Thursday 17 October at 7.59am, and then follow this with a period of work to rule. Negotiations are under way to understand the actions needed to address the staff members' concerns.

A major new milestone on the new state-of-the-art £105m adult mental health inpatient unit, North View in Manchester, has been reached with practical completion achieved on Friday 4 October with the building formally handed over to the Trust.

As part of the Recovery Pathways ‘Arts for Good Health’ summer programme, Stephen Davis, Lead Wellbeing Artist, ran a five-week course in August to celebrate pride, focusing on the work of LGBTQ+ artists Keith Vaughan, Joan Eardsley, Andy Warhol, Greer Lankton and Juno Birch.

The Recovery Pathways service, part of Greater Manchester Mental Health NHS Trust (GMMH), is excited to announce the launch of its Arts for Good Health autumn 2024 programme.  

The Academy is supporting this year’s World Mental Health Day (10 October) theme of ‘It’s time to prioritise mental health in the workplace’ and World Values Day (17 October) theme of ‘Bringing Values to Life’.

“Dementia is not a long goodbye; it is a new beginning,” Hazel raises awareness to fight stigma of life after diagnosis.

Following a successful 12-week wellbeing pilot programme designed by Wigan Borough Living Well, Wigan Athletic Community Trust (WACT) and Be-Well Wigan, funding has been secured by WACT to rollout the programme further.
