Greater Manchester Mental Health NHS Foundation Trust (GMMH) is proud to share that its Project Team, based in the Information Management & Technology Department (IM&T), were finalists in the ‘Improving Mental Health through Digital’ category at the HSJ Digital Awards 2025 for their work on digitising therapeutic observations.

We’re proud to announce that Professor J. S. Bamrah, Consultant Psychiatrist for GMMH, has been awarded the Lifetime Achievement Award at this year’s British Indian Psychiatric Association (BIPA) Conference in Birmingham (5–6 July 2025).

This year we are introducing a new category: the People’s Choice Award. This award is unique because it allows you, service users, carers, and families, to nominate individuals or teams who have made a significant positive impact on your experiences.

On Saturday, 05 July 2025, staff, patients and families from Trafford NHS Talking Therapies and Sale Central Primary Care Network (a network of five local GP surgeries) came together to celebrate the NHS's 77th birthday by taking on the Stretford parkrun at Longford Park.

Alcohol Awareness Week will take place from 7-13 July 2025, and the theme this year is alcohol and work.

Last year saw us work with a group of service users from across the Trust to establish our Service User Council. We wanted to recruit people who are passionate about improving mental health services, people who are passionate about representing the voice of others accessing our services and people keen to make good connections with other service users at their local level. The development of the Service User Council is an example of real co-production in practice. 

For the last two years, the Psychological Therapies Training Centre has been hosting a cohort of individuals who have previously been through a course of Cognitive Behaviour Therapy.

We’ve launched our new Trust Strategy this week and it’s fitting that the launch marks the start of Co-Production Week.
