North View triumphs as Project of the Year

Our impressive inpatient mental health hospital North View has once again triumphed at an awards ceremony.
It has been crowned both the sub-regional Project of the Year and the North West Building Project of the Year in the North West Regional Construction Awards (NWRCA) as the winners were unveiled in Liverpool last Thursday night (10 July).
Marc Reed, North View Project Director and Director of Capital, Estates & Facilities, said:
“This is amazing news and we’re absolutely delighted with this recognition. It’s a testament to the unwavering dedication and meticulous efforts of so many that have contributed to shaping this exceptional facility.
“From early planning through to design and delivery, we’ve always believed North View is beyond the building itself - it’s a restorative, therapeutic environment that supports recovery and proudly serves the people of North Manchester.”
As regional winners, the project now also goes into the national awards (held in November) to represent the North West.
Integrated Health Projects (IHP) - a joint venture between VINCI Building and Sir Robert McAlpine, constructed the development under the NHS ProCure framework, with DAY Project Management (DAY PM) providing client-side oversight.
The project has also been shortlisted in the same awards for a Considerate Constructors National Site Award and Project of the Year at the national Building Awards.
The news comes after an already impressive run of honours and nominations among awards shortlists.
This year the project scooped honours at the Design in Mental Health Awards: Outside Spaces of the Year and was highly commended in the New Build - Project of the Year category.
It also won Best Specialist and Dementia Care Design at the Healthcare Design Awards 2025.
In May it won the Project of the Year at the annual HEFMA awards having also landed an accolade for service user engagement for building design in the Design in Mental Health Network Awards in 2022.
Earlier this year the project was also shortlisted for the Chartered Institute of Building (CIOB) Awards Project Team of the Year Award which celebrates the collaboration and combined efforts of groups of people working together to meet a combined goal.
In February of this year, it was a finalist in the Greater Manchester Chamber of Commerce Building of the Year award. The project cost £105.9million, has 150 beds and is part of the New Hospitals Programme Masterplan for the North Manchester General Hospital site.
