NHS Chef of the Year Competition

GMMH has achieved a notable milestone this year at the annual NHS Chef of the Year competition, marking the first-ever participation by the Trust from three Catering teams.

There were two teams from Prestwich, consisting of Karolina Morawiec and Kenny Moth, and Adrian Ascott and Caroline Byrne, and one team from Woodlands in Salford, composed of Ryan Corbett and Laila Darlington.

The key elements scored throughout the competition involved the use of vegan-friendly ingredients, sustainability practices, and strategies to minimize food wastage.

Following the initial heats, we are pleased to announce that one of our teams has earned a nomination for the finals of this prestigious national competition. All three teams displayed impressive performance and received positive feedback. However, the team from Woodlands, Ryan and Laila, have successfully advanced to the final’s week scheduled for October in Winchester.

This accomplishment stands as a remarkable achievement for our Catering teams, and we wish the best of luck to Ryan and Laila as they strive to make further progress in the competition.
