NHS Chef of the Year 2025: Nationwide heats

The NHS Chef of the Year 2025 competition has kicked off its nationwide heats to find the best chefs in healthcare across England and Wales.

For the past two years, our Catering team has excelled in this competition, securing runner-up awards previously. Last week, the North West heats marked the fifth edition of the competition, held at Trafford Catering College. This event saw participation from several Trusts, including teams from as far as the North East and South Yorkshire, making it a highly competitive heat.

GMMH achieved success with one of our three teams being awarded Team of the Day, earning a place in the Finals in York this October. Here, they will compete against other regional heat winners and the two best runners-up for the 2025 title.

Our winning team members are Karolina Morawiec from North View and Joanne Downs from Woodlands.

Additionally, competing with a chance to secure the runners-up spot in the finals were:

  • Muhammad Hussain & Anthony Creaser from North View
  • Caroline Byrne & Amanda Barber from the Prestwich site

Let's cheer on our talented chefs as they prepare for the finals!
