Congratulations to Central Manchester’s Memory Assessment and Treatment service for their re-accreditation by MSNAP/Royal College of Psychiatrists!

This accreditation is a nationally recognised mark of excellence in dementia and memory care. This achievement reflects the teams unwavering commitment to delivering safe, effective, and compassionate care to individuals and families affected by memory-related conditions.

A peer review team visited the team in February 2025 obtaining evidence by interviewing staff, carers and patients who have accessed the memory service for their feedback. They also obtained feedback from GP’s who refer their patients to the service.

The team have also received a sustainability award for achieving over 90% of compliance against the sustainability standards.

Tony Ellis, Team Manager for Central Manchester Later Life Community Mental Health Team, said:

"It is a very difficult process. I am so grateful for the support, dedication and commitment that the team gave to support me to obtain the accreditation. This is our second cycle. We were initially accredited in 2022.

"The team are so overwhelmed to have our memory assessment and treatment service re-accredited and to receive an additional sustainability award for achieving over 90% of compliance against the sustainability standards.

“This achievement is evidence that we provide an excellent service to our patients, carers and GP’s.”
