Masterclass with Mark Latham: Supercharging Supervision with Active Methods

Join Mark Latham on Tuesday 30 September for a workshop on Supercharging Supervision with Active Methods.
Mark has been interested in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) supervision for more than 30 years since he first started supervising others, and for the past decade has been a keen advocate of active supervision methods.
He currently works in independent practice as a CBT Therapist and Clinical Supervisor. He also supervises CBT Therapists at the Psychological Therapies Training Research Clinic at Newcastle University.
Previously, Mark was Head of Training at Newcastle CBT Centre and Programme Lead for High Intensity IAPT training at the University of York. He was Chair of the British Association for Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapies (BABCP) Supervisor and Trainer Accreditation Committee for nine years and Chair of the BABCP Supervision Special Interest Group for four years.
Mark has an MSc in Advanced Cognitive Therapy Studies and Diploma in Cognitive Therapy, both from Oxford Cognitive Therapy Centre. Prior to that he trained as a mental health nurse and completed behaviour therapy training at the Maudsley Hospital in London.
Aims of the workshop are for participant to be able to:
- Provide a rationale for the use of active methods in supervision.
- Use contracting to explore potential barriers to the use of active supervision methods and identify possible solutions.
- Use a recently developed tool to help identify appropriate active methods based on the supervision question/need brought by supervisees.
