Listen, Share, Hold, Respond (LiSHoRe): Staff Participation Study

Listen, Share, Hold, Respond (LiSHoRe) is a new, multi-site, participatory consultation project being led by colleagues from Oxford Health NHS Trust and Oxford Brookes University.

The study aims to understand the psycho-spiritual experiences and support needs of Black, Asian and Ethnically Diverse NHS staff, as we know that Black, Asian and Ethnically Diverse NHS colleagues have been disproportionately affected by the pandemic.

This study recognises that the journey of ‘making sense’ of our experiences embraces heart, soul and spirit as well as mind and body and focuses on aspects of both spirituality and religion.

A series of supportive Consultation Groups across 10 different NHS Trusts, including GMMH, are taking place (remotely via Microsoft Teams) over the next few months.  These group will provide an opportunity for staff to talk about their views and experiences of the pandemic and how it has impacted on them their spiritual and religious experiences and needs.

All discussions will be recorded, made anonymous and then analysed to find common themes. The results will be published and made available to GMMH and will contribute towards our wider strategic approach to equality, diversity and inclusion.

We would like to invite our Black, Asian and Ethnically Diverse colleagues to participate in one of these groups which should last between 60-90 minutes.  The Trust is supporting this initiative and it has been agreed that staff participating in the study are allowed to do so within work time.

The next group will take place on Thursday 19 August 2021, 13:30pm – 15:00pm.
