TEAMS (Thinking Effectively About Mood Swings).
If you or someone you know has a diagnosis of bipolar disorder or experience distressing mood swings, contact us for the opportunity to take part in our study and a 50/50 chance of receiving a new cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) for bipolar disorder.
Thank you all for the referrals that we have received so far. The recruitment phase of TEAMS is nearly complete, but we are still recruiting and open for referrals until October 2013. We need just a few more to reach our target.
The study involves:
- Taking part in interviews about your symptoms and your evaluation of past treatments and completing questionnaires about mood, beliefs & attitudes
- Returning for follow-ups at 3, 6, 12 and 18 months
- A 50% chance that you will receive 16 sessions of TEAMS: A new cognitive behavioural therapy for bipolar disorder and 50% chance of receiving treatment as usual.
- Assessments and Therapy take place at an outpatient setting.
