International Women's Day 2021: Round Up

Thank you to everyone who took part in International Women's Day (08 March 2021)!

Individuals and organisations were invited to strike their #ChooseToChallenge pose with their hand high by sharing on social media using the hashtags #ChooseToChallenge #IWD2021.

Our theme was #EverydayCourage in tribute to the courage being demonstrated by women in health and care during these extraordinary times.

Here are just a few examples of activity that took place across the Trust:

The COVID-19 vaccination and fertility with Dr Ipshita Mukherjee

Our very own Ipsy Mukherjee who is a Consultant Perinatal Psychiatrist within the GMMH's Specialist Perinatal Team, spoke out to address misinformation around vaccines, fertility and pregnancy. Ipsy spoke from many years' experience of supporting women in pre-conception planning and decision-making when there are other factors involved such as medication.

Suzanne Robinson joins finance staff nationally to #ChoosetoChallenge

GMMH was asked to stand with finance staff across the country to show our support for this year's theme of #ChooseToChallenge and relate this back to the work our NHS finance community is doing to improve equality, diversity and inequality for everyone – in particular gender equality.

Suzanne Robinson, GMMH's Director of Finance and IM&T, contributed to this campaign on GMMH's behalf.
