GMMH shortlisted for three National Porter and Cleaner awards!
We are thrilled to announce that our Domestic & Porter Services and Sintijia Logina, Domestic Supervisor, have been shortlisted in three categories of the prestigious MyPorter Awards and MyCleaning Awards!
The shortlistings are:
- Sintijia Logina - Leadership of the Year Award
- Riverside Domestic Team - Healthcare Cleaning Team of the Year Award
- GMMH Domestic, Portering, Receipt & Distribution Management Team - Portering Team of the Year Award
After facing a difficult year due to the sudden loss of a much loved team member, Solomon, the nominations for Sintijia and the Riverside team are a testament to their strong and supportive teams.
These national awards, in association with NHS England, are a celebration dedicated to honouring healthcare cleaners and domestics, shining a light on the unwavering care and excellence they demonstrate in their vital roles each and every day. To have three nominations from GMMH is an incredible achievement as the awards are growing in popularity and entries have doubled in the past two years.
This year, shortlisted individuals and teams will be celebrated at live awards ceremonies taking place in March across two consecutive days, hosted at the newly refurbished The Met, in Leeds.
The first day will focus on the MyCleaning Awards, recognising healthcare cleaners, domestic teams and auditors for their crucial role in maintaining clean, safe and welcoming environments. The second day will host the National MyPorter Awards, celebrating excellence and innovation within NHS portering services.
Alongside the awards ceremonies, over 200 attendees across the two days will also take part in a refreshed conference programme, including two interactive panel discussions new to this year's agenda.
Marc Reed, Associate Director of Capital, Estates and Facilities said:
“It’s fantastic that the Trusts portering & domestic teams have been recognised and shortlisted at the 2026 National Porter and Cleaning Awards across three separate categories. We have a tremendous group of hard working staff, and these nominations provide recognition of their dedication to achieving and maintaining the highest of standards.”
Our brilliant shortlisters and an insight into their nominations:
The Riverside Domestic Team - Healthcare Cleaning Team of the Year Award

The Domestic Team at Greater Manchester Mental Health NHS Foundation Trust (GMMH)’s Riverside Centre represents the very best of teamwork, resilience, and dedication to patient care. Over the past year, this exceptional group has faced some really tough challenges, and have faced them as a team to ensure they continue to deliver outstanding results and maintain the highest standards of cleanliness and safety for our patients. They are committed, passionate and inclusive; qualities that make them truly deserving of the Healthcare Cleaning Team of the Year Award.
The Domestic, Portering, Receipt & Distribution Management Team - Portering Team of the Year Award
One of our most significant achievements has been the increase in the total number of porters, enabling us to provide a more responsive and efficient service. We have successfully transitioned from a traditional five-day model to a comprehensive seven-day service, ensuring that patients and clinical teams receive consistent support throughout the week. This change has had a profound impact on patient care, reducing delays and improving the overall flow of services across our sites.
Sintijia Logina - Leadership of the Year Award
Sintijia is resilient, empathetic, and understands that leadership is about people. She has shown extraordinary strength in balancing operational excellence with compassion and support for her team members. Her ability to keep her team motivated and united during such a difficult year speaks volumes about her character and her dedication to both her colleagues and the patients they serve.
