From Monday 16th September 2013 for a period of three weeks until 7th October.

Please note: A proposed closure of the car parking areas in front of the existing McGuiness Unit & surrounding roadways.

Following completion of Phase 1 - Junction 17 - and in continuance of the works around the existing McGuiness Unit, we require to make a closure to the car parking areas at the front of the existing McGuiness Unit to allow for safe working environment and contractors’ access to all locations listed below:

From Monday 16th September 2013 the full width of car parking areas will have safety barriers put into position to separate off the areas. This section of road leading to the side gate exit currently in use by the contractors will remain closed off until the full completion of all sections of these works.

Please note, the pedestrian walkway and the roadways leading to Junction 17, the John Denmark Unit and the Gardener Unit will remain in operation.

The extent of the roads affected will be as follows:
• Mini roundabout at Thornton Crescent
• Chapman Barker Unit to Junction 17/JDU/Gardener Unit
• Descent to Mere Clough sub-station
• Tottington lane

Take caution when driving on temporary road surfaces during the period of works. Please refrain from parking on all roads/grass verges marked on site plan during this road surface improvement scheme. Please use other car parking areas for your convenience. Traffic controls will be in operation for the duration of the road surface improvements.

We apologise for any inconvenience caused during the period of the works. Please do not hesitate to contact the Facilities Helpdesk on 0161 772 3660 for any further information.
