Capital and Property Services

Our Capital Services Team leads the Trust’s building investment and improvement programme. We manage projects large and small, from major refurbishments to minor maintenance schemes, guiding them from initial concept through to completion. This might involve designing new therapy spaces, upgrading wards, transforming reception areas or delivering large-scale developments that significantly enhance the experience of our service users. As an award-winning team, we are proud of the national and international recognition our work has received, including the achievements of the North View development, which showcases how thoughtful, sustainable design can improve wellbeing and create greener, more therapeutic environments for the future. Design quality, sustainability and innovation sit at the heart of what we do. We are committed to creating “green hospitals” — spaces that reduce environmental impact, use resources responsibly and support recovery. Our Capital Services Team brings together project managers, designers, technical specialists and contractors to ensure every development meets clinical needs, contributes positively to the local environment and enhances the way care is delivered.

Our Property Services Team looks after the Trust’s land and buildings. We manage leases, property records and surveys, and lead on acquisitions and disposals across the estate. Through smart planning and strategic oversight, we ensure the Trust’s property portfolio remains safe, compliant, future-focused and fit for purpose. In these roles, you’ll gain valuable experience in estate strategy, property law and asset management while helping shape environments that support the Trust’s long-term ambitions and the needs of our communities.

I was inspired to join GMMH because I have a love for construction. One of the best things about my job is the sense of pride you get once you've completed a job, and you can stand back and look at what you have created. — Harry Denman, Capital Project Officer
