Activities

What is the structured day in CAMHS? How are evenings planned?

Education

Education

Education

We are lucky to have Cloughside College within our CAMHS service. The teachers work closely with the clinical and nursing team and provide education whilst your loved one is in our care so that they can keep up with their education.

Your loved ones are encouraged to partake in the school day.  Like other schools and colleges, there is a full range of classes on the timetable including music, woodwork and art in addition to English, Maths and Science

Physical Activity

Physical Activity

We all know the benefit that physical activity can have on our emotional as well as physical wellbeing. We have a large sports hall that is used by teachers from Cloughside Collage and nursing staff.

We have regular sporting events and tournaments on the wards.  Our aim is to make physical activity fun and we encourage all of our staff to get involved as well as your loved ones.

As well as physical activity we know that eating healthily also has great benefits for our emotional wellbeing.

We have lovely therapy kitchens where your loved ones and staff can make delicious meals and snacks.

Evenings

We recognise that evenings can be a difficult time for your loved ones, and in our CAMHS services we like to put on activities to help relaxation.

Gardening

Gardening

As well as physical activity, gardening can also benefit the mind.

We have staff who support your loved one’s to grow fruit and vegetables, as well as tender plants and flowers.  These can be in specially designed polytunnels or in wards private courtyards and gardens.

As a patient

As a service user, relative or carer using our services, sometimes you may need to turn to someone for help, advice, and support.
