Despite tough competition from a large number of nominees, Greater Manchester Mental Health NHS Foundation Trust (GMMH) has made the shortlist in two of the eleven categories.  

GMMH has achieved a notable milestone this year at the annual NHS Chef of the Year competition, marking the first-ever participation by the Trust from three Catering teams.

Greater Manchester Mental Health NHS Foundation Trust (GMMH) and the University of Manchester (UoM) are delighted to announce that MCT-PATHWAY and PATHWAY Beacons, led by Professor Adrian Wells, has been shortlisted for Mental Health Innovation of the Year at the Health Service Journal (HSJ) Awards, in recognition of their outstanding contribution to healthcare.

Greater Manchester Mental Health NHS Foundation Trust (GMMH) is delighted to announce that brainHealth Manchester has been shortlisted for Modernising Diagnostics at the HSJ Awards, recognising an outstanding contribution to healthcare and securing a place at the prestigious awards ceremony later this year.

Sophie Parker, Director of Youth Mental Health Research Unit and Consultant Clinical Psychologist at GMMH, recognised for her contribution to clinical psychology and research in the area of adolescent mental health. 

The Greater Manchester Liaison and Diversion (L&D) Service at Greater Manchester Mental Health NHS Foundation Trust has been commended in the ‘Liaison & Diversion’ category for this year for their Out of Court Disposal Pathway in partnership with Greater Manchester Police. 

Adele McKie (GMMH Assistant Director of Finance) recently won the John Andrews Award. This award recognises a finance colleague who has shown care and compassion to support the health and well-being of colleagues during the 12 months preceding the award.

GMMH's Finance team were recently shortlisted in the Public Finance Awards 2022 for Finance Team of the Year – Health – and our Marketing and Communications team were Highly Commended in the NHS Communicate Awards for Best Use of Digital Communications and Engagement Award.

Dr Hannah Cappleman, Consultant Psychiatrist at Greater Manchester Mental Health NHS Foundation Trust (GMMH), has been shortlisted in the prestigious Royal College of Psychiatrists (RCPsych) Awards.

Filippo Varese, Head of the Complex Trauma and Resilience Research Unit (C-TRU), a collaboration between GMMH and the University of Manchester, has been awarded the May Davidson Award by The British Psychological Society (BPS).

A project run by GMMH - using a technology called ‘Management and Supervision Tool’ (MaST) to support clinical care and patient safety in Community Mental Health Teams (CMHTs), has been recognised in the National Positive Practice in Mental Health Awards 2022.

The winners of the Greater Manchester Health and Care Research Awards 2022 were announced last week during an evening of celebrations at The Etihad Stadium.

Paula St-John, Senior Practitioner for Personality Disorder at Ramsgate House in Salford, was recognised as being highly commended in the the Key Worker category for the BBC Radio Manchester #MakeADifference awards!
