Jackie Pickup awarded title of Queen's Nurse

This month, Jackie Pickup, Lead Professional for Community Physical Healthcare at GMMH, has been awarded the title of Queen's Nurse.
This prestigious title is given to nurses who have demonstrated a high level of commitment to learning, leadership and excellence in patient care, reflecting Jackie's extensive experience and dedication.
On the announcement of Jackie's award, Jo Reynard, Lead Professional for Physical Health and Infection Prevention and Control said:
"I’m so proud of Jackie being awarded the title of Queen's Nurse. Over several months, we discussed the value of the title of Queen’s Nurse. We spoke about how it can support our own ability to improve patient care as it creates access to a new peer group.
"I supported Jackie's application as she has a wealth of community nursing experience and considers community nursing in every aspect of her work.
"There is now a group of Queens Nurses in GMMH, including myself and Tony Rogers, Lead Nurse for Infection Prevention and Control at GMMH. We will be supporting more colleagues to take the next steps towards the title in 2026."
The title of Queen's Nurse title not only recognises the dedication of nurses, but also enables more nurses to access the development opportunities and network that The Queen's Institute of Community Nursing provides.
