Evidence-based Community Led Interventions: Psychological Skills Enhancement (ECLIPSE)
About the programme
The Eclipse training programme is a validated CPD Unit with the University of Manchester and aims to enhance psychological skills and knowledge relevant to the range of difficulties experienced by service users in adult community secondary services.
The programme is only currently available to GMMH staff although external commissions would be considered.

Programme aims
The programme aims to equip trainees with foundation psychological knowledge and skills drawn from the available literature, evidence base and best practice guidance for working with people with severe and complex mental health problems. It includes:
- Psychologically informed engagement and relationship formation
- Foundation level skills in psychological assessment and formulation
- Foundation level intervention skills with people with severe and complex mental health problems including complex emotional and relationship difficulties, anxiety, depression, psychosis and bipolar disorder. The role of trauma will be considered throughout.
There will be a particular emphasis on the application of skills to the workplace with service users, with opportunities to plan for and discuss experiences of application in practice.
Assessment of skills and knowledge gained will follow the training component.

Currently unavailable to external applicants.
Eclipse is currently for registered mental health nurses and other registered professionals such as occupational therapists, social workers etc. working for GMMH in community services.
Manager’s approval is required for attendance.
Training component
The programme includes 12 face-to-face training days in four blocks of three days, over approximately three months, plus one skills assessment and follow up day. The workshops will be delivered by GMMH psychological specialist staff, from the Psychological Therapies Training Centre, and from services around the Trust, together with Experts by Experience.
Blocks included are foundation psychological skills, complex interpersonal problems, anxiety and depression and psychosis and bipolar disorder.
There will be additional implementation and sustainability day for managers and potential/ existing psychological specialist supervisors, including some supervision training day for supervisors.

Prior to scheduled Eclipse training dates, information will be circulated to services including an application form, which we ask to be completed in full and returned to the Eclipse administrator.
