Information for Trafford carers
In response to coronavirus, Trafford Carers Centre will be operating services predominantly over the telephone.
They are accepting referrals as per normal and their team of Caseworkers will continue to deliver carers assessments, reviews, emotional support and other information & advice. Caseworkers are also conducting a check-in wellbeing review with the most vulnerable carers.
Young carer officers will continue to deliver carers assessments, reviews, emotional support and other information & advice. The Young Carers team have started to hold groups via zoom which include choir, quizzes and scavenger hunts.
Their dedicated Carers Nurse will be delivering over-the-phone health appointments focused on health & wellbeing. Any aspect of physical contact will be postponed until further notice.
Benefit advice will continue to be offered to Trafford carers. To access this advice caseworkers will make an internal referral.
The cohort of counsellors are delivering sessions via skype, zoom or over the phone. They currently have 7 counsellors trained to offer this service.
The Creative Relationships therapy group continues to run via Zoom. Access is limited and all carers must be referred through Health & Wellbeing prior to attending this group.
Hospital face-to-face support will be suspended. Staff will continue to stay in touch with carers of patients to provide ongoing emotional support.
Trafford Carers have taken the extra measures necessary to keep any carers accessing their services protected, therefore all therapies and most groups have been temporarily suspended until further notice.
The yoga group will be continuing with zoom for current members. For new members they will be offering a stretching session and also providing links to mindfulness sessions.
