Rapid Assessment, Interface and Discharge (RAID) is a mental health service that specialises in understanding the link between people’s physical and mental health. We support the assessment, diagnosis and management of people aged over 16 years who attend A&E, or are admitted to hospital, who might be suffering with mental health issues.
Hospital staff are trained to deal with physical health needs but may not always have the necessary skills to deal with mental health problems. In addition to treatment for their physical health, service users can also benefit from a rapid specialist assessment from a mental health professional. Another role of the team is to offer support and training to the staff at Hospitals across, Bolton, Salford, Trafford and the City of Manchester, so that they can feel equipped and confident in caring for people with mental health problems more effectively.
RAID Team members use their different skills and expertise to offer a supportive and caring service. The team works closely with hospital doctors and healthcare workers to ensure that your physical and mental health care is as joined up as possible.
