Mental Health Practitioner Opportunities

Are you a dynamic mental health practitioner who wants to work in one of the fastest growing cities in Europe?rrgr

This is a unique opportunity to be part of an exciting transformation of hospital liaison mental health services. As two of the main mental health providers within Greater Manchester, Pennine Care and Greater Manchester Mental Health NHS Foundation Trusts are recruiting together for Band 6 Mental Health Practitioners from a range of professional backgrounds.

If you’re enthusiastic and motivated then we’d love you to apply. We have vacancies available in Stockport, North, Central and South Manchester, Trafford, Bolton, Salford and Oldham.

More about the role

Our 24/7 liaison services provide responsive mental health care in acute hospital and A&E settings, to bridge the gap between mental and physical health. Our teams provide psychiatric assessment and treatment to those patients experiencing a wide range of mental health problems including; depression, anxiety, psychosis, dementia and delirium.

Adults with mental health problems are five times more likely to be admitted to a general hospital as an emergency, so a liaison mental health service is an essential component of any high-performing general hospital ensuring a person’s mental health needs are addressed when they are in hospital for their physical health needs.

Why choose us?

We understand the importance of a good work-life balance, positive wellbeing and community spirit. We can offer flexibility, day-to-day diversity and development opportunities to enthusiastic and committed people. There’s nowhere Greater than Manchester.

We can promise you a fulfilling role, which is varied, challenging and an integral part of the health service.

Here’s what our liaison mental health staff say:

“I like working with colleagues from varied backgrounds.”

“I love the fact that every day is different. You rarely know how the day is going to pan out.”

“I work in a very supportive team”
