The NHS Friends & Family Test is about giving patients the opportunity to provide quick feedback on their care and treatment experience. 

You can say what is going well and what can be improved so that people who make decisions about local healthcare can take your views into account.

We will offer you the opportunity to provide your feedback when you:

  • Are discharged or transferred from the ward or service; or
  • Have attended an appointment in the community
  • And at some other points in your care

It is a simple and anonymous way to tell us what you think of the care or treatment you received in the NHS.

You can also complete paper versions of the surveys at home or at one of our sites/services and send it back to us by post - ask a member of staff for a copy.

Customer Care

The Friends and Family Test does not replace existing feedback methods, with service users, carers and visitors still able to pass on their compliments and complaints in the normal way.

How will the results be used?

The information will give us invaluable feedback on what you think of the care and treatment you have received, which along with existing ways of gathering feedback, will help us to make improvements for our service users and carers.
