How to Develop Peer Support Groups in Your Community
Peer support groups can be a powerful way of connecting, supporting each other and improving mental health but they also come with some challenges.
The aim of this two day course is to increase confidence and knowledge about how to setup a peer support group in a safe way, including how to maintain boundaries, identifying challenges that may arise and strategies for dealing with these challenges.
This two day course is suitable for anyone who is interested in setting-up a peer support group or who is currently in the process of doing so but needs ideas and support. The content of the course has been developed by the Peer Support Development Worker and peer support volunteers of Manchester Mind, who all
have their own lived experience of mental health and who have been involved in setting-up and running peer support groups in North and Central Manchester
