Introduction to Mindfulness and Relaxation

About the course

This introductory course aims to familiarise learners to the definition of Mindfulness, its similarity and differences with other relaxation techniques, a description of the 7 'pillars' of mindfulness, its role in a wide range of '3rd wave' therapies, its relationship to self-compassion, its potential use in enhancing empathy etc. The course will also explore the links between Mindfulness and the 5 Ways to Wellbeing. Opportunities will be provided to learners during the teaching session to briefly practice a range of both mindfulness and relaxation exercises.

Eligibilty criteria

Anybody who has an interest in mindfulness and relaxation can apply for this course.
